Divine Mercy Sunday — Solemn Mass & Adoration

The Second Sunday of Easter is designated as Divine Mercy Sunday by the Church. We celebrate Solemn Mass at 11:00 am with special music from the parish choir, followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. All are most warmly welcome to this beautiful celebration of God's inexhaustible mercy.

Safeguarding Training for Volunteers

Annual safeguarding refresher training is mandatory for all parish volunteers — including Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Welcomers, Catechists, and Choir members. This session is run by our Parish Safeguarding Representative and covers the key principles and any policy updates. Refreshments will be provided. Please confirm your attendance.

First Friday Adoration

Monthly Eucharistic Adoration on the first Friday of each month. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed at 7:00 pm for a time of silent personal prayer, Scripture, and intercession. At 8:00 pm we pray the Rosary together. Adoration closes with Benediction at 9:00 pm. A profound and peace-filled evening — do come, even just for thirty minutes.

Ascension of the Lord — Holy Day of Obligation

The Ascension of the Lord is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics in England and Wales. We will celebrate Solemn Mass at 10:00 am with full choir and incense. Father will preach on the mystery of Christ's Ascension and what it means for our lives of faith. Please note there is no evening Mass on this day.

Youth Group Summer Social

The Madonna Ministry teen youth group (ages 13–18) gathers for an end-of-term summer social. There will be games, a shared meal, and an opportunity for the young people to reflect on the year together with their group leaders. Parents are welcome to join at the end from 8:00 pm. DBS-checked youth workers will be present throughout.

Pilgrimage

Day Pilgrimage to Walsingham

Our annual coach pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham in Norfolk — England's Nazareth. We depart from the church car park at 6:00 am, arriving at the Shrine for the 10:30 am Mass. The afternoon includes time to walk the Holy Mile, visit the Slipper Chapel, and take part in the afternoon Rosary procession. Coach departs for home at 5:00 pm.

Corpus Christi Procession

The Feast of Corpus Christi — the Body and Blood of Christ — is one of the great solemnities of the Church's year. After the 11:00 am Solemn Mass, we will process with the Blessed Sacrament through the parish grounds and surrounding streets, singing hymns in honour of Our Lord in the Eucharist. Children who have made their First Holy Communion are especially encouraged to attend.

Sacred Heart Parish Bazaar

Our annual parish summer bazaar returns! There will be stalls, homemade cakes, a raffle, children's games, and a BBQ. All proceeds support the parish building fund. Volunteers are needed on the day — please contact the office if you can help. Set-up begins at 9:00 am.
